This museum celebrates the old adage that small is beautiful. Miniature art like doll houses, antique, palaces and street scenes are all portrayed on a small scale.

The American Museum of Miniature Arts (originally known as the Dollhouse Museum of the Southwest) evolved, as collections of both miniatures and dollhouses became available through donations, loans and purchases.

The museum is currently located in The Sharp Gallery at The Hall of State at Dallas' Fair Park.

It is a boon to children who gaze with wonder at doll houses and other miniature buildings. It is also a collector's haven and a historian's delight as the pages of history come alive on a small scale.

Exhibits range from a 1690 English country house to a 1960 bachelor's pad. All museums depend on volunteers, and AMMA is no exception.

Hours: Monday - Saturday, 9.a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
