Daily newspaper in Dallas
The Dallas Observer is not a daily newspaper in Dallas – rather, it is offered to the public for free on a weekly basis. At one time, the Dallas Observer was published biweekly but returned to the weekly publishing schedule eventually. The Dallas Observer pursues investigative stories about local government issues, and other parts of the Dallas community life, such as concerts, public events, and reviews about restaurants. If you are looking for a daily newspaper in Dallas, you could try The Dallas Morning News instead. For Hispanic residents, there is the Al Dia Spanish daily newspaper in Dallas instead. Dallas Jews have the option of reading the Texas Jewish Post as well. The Dallas Observer, on the other hand, qualifies as an alternative weekly paper.
Dallas Jews
Somehow, mass media seems to have missed out on playing up the role of the Dallas Jews on the city. The population of Dallas Jews is concentrated mainly in the eastern plus northern parts of the city. The Texas Jewish Post (which is being published by the family of Rene Wisch) began being published back in year 1947. This paper focuses more on the Zionist movement (unlike the Dallas Observer which concentrates on Dallas political issues.) And even though the Dallas Observer expresses ideas to the general Dallas community, the Texas Jewish Post tries to broadcast Jewish concerns to the city community and beyond the state boundaries. Nowadays, even Gentiles (or goys, as Jews call non-Jews) subscribe to and advertise in the Texas Jewish Post.
