Designed by nationally acclaimed architect Frank Lloyd Wright, it is a beautiful venue built in 1959. The Dallas theater actually occupies two venues Kalita Humphreys Theater at Turtle Creek, designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright, and the cavernous Arts District Theater, located across the street from Annette Strauss Artist Square.

The theater hosts more than 1,000 patrons each season. A variety of plays ranging from musicals, classics and contemporary plays enchant the audience. The venue entertains with a variety of performances ranging from light and frothy Oscar Wilde comedies to thought provoking historical plays. It has hosted more than 400 plays and also hosts the annual Dallas Video Festival. The venue attracts regional and local talents. It acts as a platform to showcase their talent.

Dallas Theater Center continues to follow its ambitious goal of bringing the best in live theater to Dallas and attracting national, regional and local talent to its stages. A local favorite is DTC's annual production of 'A Christmas Carol.' Its various performances enrich the lives of its audience and shape their thoughts and actions.
