Lakewood Theater stands tall in east Dallas. This vintage 1938 movie theater has proved to be a born survivor and retained its old world charm. It hosts movies, concerts, plays, corporate and private special events, film and music festivals and premieres, community gatherings and more.

October 17, 1938 brought a new theater to Dallas. Its sounds incredible now but tickets cost only 15cents. It hosted "Love Finds Andy Hardy" with the irrepressible Mickey Rooney and the fast- rising singing sensation Judy Garland.

Over the next 60 years it has held its own and become the most prominent landmark in East Dallas. It could be recognized from afar by the lighted ball on top of the tower. When the lights went off it meant it was time to go to bed.

Soaring 100 feet high in the air this green, red and blue art décor tower, draws people from far and near and has become the most visible landmark. It also hosts public and private events.
