Texas State Fair

The Texas State Fair is a celebration of the heart and soul of Texas—an event which makes man feel it is a joy to be alive and showcases local talent.

Located two miles east of downtown Dallas in Fair Park, the festival features an array of cooking, arts and crafts, livestock shows and auctions. Collegiate football games, headline concerts and the automobile show complete the three- week fair experience.

The highlight of the fair is Big Tex and the star Ferris Wheel. Big Tex is a huge figure of a cowboy which had been fashioned from the world's tallest Santa Claus.

The Star Ferris Wheel is the tallest wheel in the whole of north America at 212 feet which gives you an exhilarating ride.

The massive three- week tradition teems with interactive games, antique cars, a make- believe circus, educational displays, rides and nightly laser shows.
