Dallas police reserve officers help out at the State Fair

The Dallas police reserves are expected to be out in force tonight at the Texas State Fair to help out the department's full-time force. Rick Anderssen, commander of the reserve battalion, said more than 40 reserve officers are scheduled to come help manage the crowds. During the fair season, reserve officers frequently help out on Fridays and Saturdays, providing much-needed extra manpower. The reserve battalion currently has about 75 officers, he said.
