Across the Street Bar

The bar caters to a young crowd mostly from the colleges it is a place where young crowds mingle and older ones relive the nostalgia of college days.

This live music venue is named in honor of its prime location across the highway from Southern Methodist University. Across the Street Bar faithfully books local rock and alternative bands Thursday through Sunday nights. You never know what type of music you can hear at this bar for it brings in a wide range. The décor is a converted automotive garage with pool tables and a great patio.

It is renowned for novel Psychedelic Drum Night which brings the roof down. You can also learn to dance and gyrate like Africans at the free African dance lessons offered every Wednesday. When things get too hot inside, you can venture out to the patio and enjoy a quiet smoke. Beer is cheap and this is one of the main attractions of the college crowd. The walls are adorned with murals of pop stars. Music bands perform five nights of a week pepping up the atmosphere.
