Serving Dallas for over 25 years, the Valley View Center has carved out a niche for itself. Besides shopping, it also offers wholesome entertainment for adults and kids alike. In 1965, Sears Roebuck and Company opened a freestanding store on the far northern fringe of Dallas. Valley View Center made a modest beginning in 1973 when Homart Development Company added a Sanger- Harris department store (now Foley's) to the site.
Over the years it has grown in strength and commands a growing list of patrons. In late 1996, The Macerich Company purchased Valley View Center and JC Penney opened their beautiful flagship store in the space previously occupied by Bloomingdales.
There is enough in this place to keep you here for a few hours. If your stomach is rumbling you can head for El Fenix which serves divine Mexican food. If you are hard pressed for time, then grab a quick bite at the Food Court. While you shop, your kids can have a whale of a time at the Camp View soft playing center or Dallas children's museum. A few stores livens things up like Gametime which houses sports memorabilia.
