The Dallas Zoo is an animal lover's paradise. Its name has gone down history as the first zoo in the state of Texas.

As you enter the zoo a 65.5 feet towering edifice of a giraffe greets you. Then you can plunge into the wilds of Africa which features chimpanzee forest, the gorilla center and an aviary on a quarter- mile nature trail where six natural habitats are featured: forest, mountain, woodland, river, desert and brush. You can also traverse the zoo with the help of a 20 minutes ride on a monorail.

The ZooNorth attraction includes a bird and reptile building, children's zoo with touchable animals, cheetah exhibit and birds of prey, as well as elephants, giraffes, flamingos and other traditional animals.

The animals kept in enclosures closely resembling their natural habitat.
