Steeped in culture and history, this venue is home to the largest collection of art deco buildings. Built way back in 1936, it has been registered as a National Historic Landmark.
It was built by the WPA to house the Texas Centennial celebration of independence from Mexico. Fair Park boasts an inspiring list of museums including the African American Museum, Age of Steam Railroad Museum, Dallas Museum of Natural History, The Science Place, Music Hall (home to Dallas Opera and Dallas Summer Musicals), Dallas Aquarium and Dallas Horticulture Center.
Today it is the largest venue for showcasing culture, history and entertainment. Its museums house masterpieces of art besides priceless artifacts.
It is located in 27 acres of landscaped gardens. Facilities available for use range from the 71,000- seat Cotton Bowl to the 130- seat Margo Jones Theater.
